Web 2.0 is a quick link to thousands of programs. These tools can be used in and out of the classroom. There are applications that students can use for mind-mapping, note taking, studying, collaboration, calendars and calculations. Here are a few applications that I have found that could be useful in the classroom. The one site I really liked was bubbl.us. It is an easy (and free) site that students can use to organize their thinking. This could be used while finding research or just planning out their writing. It is easy to navigate and easy to use. I have used programs like this in the past (Inspiration and Kidspiration) and the students can get caught up with all the pictures and colors. Bubbl.us is plain and doesn't have many of the distracting pictures that can slow children down.
